Summary

On January 23, 1956, at 4:00 p.m. local time, a circular disc-shaped object was sighted at McChord Air Force Base in Washington. The object measured one and a half feet in diameter, smaller than the moon, and was fire red in color. It emitted flames and appeared fuzzy. The object traveled in a level line into clouds. One witness observed the object for one minute. The Air Force concluded the sighting was a meteor based on the description of the object.
