Summary

On July 9, 1954, a military witness aboard an aircraft near Manston, England, saw a round white object through the aircraft window. The sighting lasted about 30 seconds. The object was described as a round white blob, about the apparent size of a dime.

The object made an almost vertical ascent until it disappeared. The witness, an aircraft navigator, was considered a reliable source with considerable flying experience. The aircraft was at about 5,000 feet at the time.

A local weather station reported no unusual weather and no weather balloon releases that could have been mistaken for the object. The Air Force record card listed the case as insufficient data for analysis.
