Summary

On August 12, 1958, at 12:09 a.m., civilians in Madras, Oregon reported seeing a large explosion followed by a bright flash and three falling objects with a light trail heading southwest and fading. The objects fell for about two seconds. Three civilians reported the sighting to a Redmond city patrolman, who also reported it to an ATCS operator at Redmond. Visibility was clear for 45 miles. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as unknown.
