Summary

On the night of September 27, 1954, a civilian reported an object over Loudonville, Ohio. The witness, an employee of a local company, watched the object from his car while driving home and again from his home. He used both his naked eye and high powered field glasses. The sighting lasted about 6 minutes, and five or six other people also saw the object.

The object was rectangular and very bright, with rough looking edges and a hot appearance. Its center looked oval and smooth. It first headed south southeast, then changed to the southwest. As it changed direction, it appeared to become elongated. The night was clear with no limits to visibility.

The Air Force record listed the conclusion as probably aircraft. The case was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
