Summary
On August 7, 1957, three civilians reported seeing one round object about the size of a basketball with transparent color near Livingston Manor, New York. The sighting lasted one hour. The object was first spotted by a second and third party who looked up. The second party observed it at 25,000 to 39,000 feet, while the third party saw it at 12,000 to 15,000 feet. The first party saw it for one hour and reported it remained in sight. The object moved from north to south in a circling motion. The observation was made visually using binoculars by the second and third parties. Reporting officers and one observer believed the object to be a weather balloon.
