Summary

On a September day in 1952 near Lake Charles, Louisiana, a witness reported seeing an unidentified object. The sighting occurred around 7:30 to 7:35 a.m. The observer was outdoors at the time and noticed the object, which gave off light. According to the witness's account, the object appeared solid and was described as having a light color.

The witness reported that the object changed direction during the sighting. When asked to estimate the object's size, the witness selected a comparison from the provided options. The object remained in view for 15 seconds. The witness sketched the object's shape and noted details about its appearance and movement. The file indicates the observer was a civilian source, and another person was present at the time, though the OCR makes it difficult to confirm whether that person also witnessed the event.

The Air Force investigation classified this case as "unknown" in its final evaluation. The case file includes weather data sheets and standard questionnaire forms completed by the witness, though much of the technical data on these pages is difficult to read in the OCR version.

The full case file, comprising 14 pages as held by the National Archives, is reproduced below.
