Summary

On April 6, 1961, an object was reported through Oregon air defense channels by a ground observer. The record card was left blank, but an attached message gives the details. The object had the shape of a shooting star, only larger, with a greenish yellow orange tail and sparks flying from it. It was very bright. There was one object. It was seen at about 45 degrees elevation and 270 degrees azimuth, then went straight down and dropped behind a house. The sighting lasted about three or four seconds. The observation was made by eye, with no viewing aid.

On Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports, the conclusion box on the card was not filled in, so no stated evaluation is given in the document.
