Huron, OhioSeptember 1955
Summary
On September 12, 1955, at about 1810Z, a civilian saw an object near Huron, Ohio. Ground observers used binoculars of unknown power to watch it. The sighting lasted about two minutes.
The witness described one round, silver object about the size of a silver dollar held at arm's length. It was seen flying east. No radar contact was made with the object.
The Air Force concluded the object was a probable balloon. The reporting authority believed it was a weather or upper-air balloon, and officers said the description fit a balloon.
