Summary

On August 22, 1957, at about 2054 (12:54 p.m. Greenwich time) over the Hollywood and Van Nuys areas of California, civilian ground observers saw one object for about one minute. It had a stubby delta wing and looked smaller than a jet. Its color was bright pink. The object was losing altitude and slowing down. It disappeared over a mountain range. The day was clear. Reporting officers noted the object could have been a drone or a small aircraft. The Air Force record card for Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports, lists the conclusion as possibly aircraft.
