Summary

On April 23, 1952, at 4:30 p.m. PST, a civilian in Hinkle, Oregon reported seeing an unidentified flying object northwest of Pendleton, Washington. The witness observed a silver flash followed by a light green ball descending vertically with a light brown trail. The object struck the ground beyond a ridge about 12 miles south of Hinkle. The brownish trail remained visible for 20 to 30 seconds after the object hit the ground. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as unknown.
