Project Blue Book Case File
Hamden, OhioDecember 1951
Summary
On December 22, 1951, in the early morning near Hamden, Ohio, an object was reported in the southeast sky. A witness first said the object appeared to follow an automobile along a highway. The object was later reported in the sky some miles away.
The object was a light in the southeast, too bright to be a star, and it disappeared as daylight came. The Air Force compared its position to bright objects then visible in the southeast along the path of the planets, including Mars, Venus, Spica, and Saturn. The case was evaluated as one of these astronomical bodies, most likely Venus.
