Summary

In March 1962, a witness at Grandview, Missouri, reported one object that passed directly overhead. It looked like a saucepan with a tail pointing one way and seemed much bigger than the stars or the moon. The object appeared to stop and go and varied direction slightly, then disappeared while descending over a nearby air base. It was seen through a living room window over 2 to 3 minutes, on a clear night. An Air Force scientist spoke with the witness, and the report noted the impression of a helicopter in the flight path with a landing or running light, the tail giving the saucepan appearance and the object disappearing over the air base.
