Summary

On March 1, 1963, a military aircraft crew over Germany reported a sharp, long rectangular object in flight. The object was bright white with a bluish green tinge and was 2 to 3 times brighter than the planet Venus. Its middle looked dark, and it had no tail or trail. The sighting lasted about 2 to 3 seconds.

The object was first seen to the left of the aircraft's nose. It moved downward in a straight or arcing path and disappeared low near the horizon, as if impacting the earth. It started slowly but gained speed as it fell.

The Air Force, in its Project 10073 record, said the description and duration matched a meteor. The case was evaluated as astronomical, meteor.
