Summary

On April 28, 1954, starting about 8:55 p.m., over Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, civilians and military personnel reported an object for more than two hours. A student first saw a T-shaped object that changed color from red to white to blue and had a green tail. It hovered near 4,000 feet. The object was tracked on a weather radar storm detector at Carswell Air Force Base and seen visually from the Carswell and Meacham control towers. Two jets and a T-6 were sent to check the area. The object was still visible the next morning. The Air Force conclusion was astronomical, the planet Jupiter, which set in the west about the time the object disappeared.
