Summary

On October 22, 1960, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, a civilian observer reported seeing a silver, half-dollar-sized object. The observer watched from a house window for approximately 2 to 5 seconds. The object appeared as a flash in the sky directly in line of vision. A second observer on top of a tower saw the object appear at approximately 60 degrees, disappear at approximately 65 degrees, and then reappear at approximately 350 degrees before disappearing again at approximately 340 degrees. The Air Force investigation noted that the sighting was possibly due to reflection of sun on a high-flying aircraft.
