Summary

In November 1958, someone near Columbus, Ohio saw an object fall from the sky in broad daylight. The witness described it as round and green, about the size of a pin head held at arm's length. The object fell straight down and hit the ground, where it exploded in a bright white flash.

The sighting lasted only about three seconds. The Air Force investigators who reviewed the case noted in their summary that the object resembled a meteor. However, no additional investigation notes, witness interviews, or technical analysis appear in this file to explain what was actually seen or how the Air Force reached that conclusion. The OCR text of the form pages is legible but sparse on details, and the handwritten portions are difficult to read clearly.

The Air Force marked the case as "unknown," meaning they could not definitively identify what the object was.

The full case file is reproduced below as held by the National Archives across 8 pages.
