Summary

A resident near Delta, Utah reported seeing a silver object hovering about four miles south of Delta Airport around November 1952. The object wobbled and made a vapor trail, then fell to earth on the witness's farm, causing a dust eruption. The witness initially thought a jet aircraft had passed overhead at the same time. A private pilot reported seeing scattered debris and broken visibility in the area. The Air Force later identified the object as a wing tank from a jet aircraft, possibly from an F-86 Sabre jet based at a nearby installation.
