Summary

On a night in October 1958, a witness in Dayton, Ohio saw one blue-green object that looked like a flame. It changed brightness and was about the size of a dime. The object traveled very fast from east to southeast. Its nose turned red, then the object disappeared. The sighting lasted about six seconds. This was a civilian, ground visual report.

The report was filed on Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force concluded the description was that of a meteor.
