Summary

On April 18, 1960, someone in Dayton, Ohio saw a bright white light in the sky that gave off two red balls before coming to a sudden stop. The light then dimmed and disappeared. The entire sighting lasted only about five seconds.

At the same time, someone at Cox Municipal Airport in the area also reported seeing a greenish light that lasted three to five seconds. The two sightings happened simultaneously, though the witnesses were in different locations.

The Air Force investigated both reports but found no explanation for what was seen. Based on the description, the investigators concluded the object was probably a meteor, though the file does not indicate complete certainty about this conclusion.

The full case file is reproduced below as held by the National Archives, comprising 10 pages of documents.
