Summary

# Dallas and New England Sightings, July 1952

In early July 1952, residents in the Dallas area reported seeing an unusual object high in the sky moving at what seemed to be an extremely fast speed. A group of civilians spotted the bright object traveling in a level flight, though witnesses could not estimate its actual altitude or speed. The object was sighted at two specific locations. It later started moving in a northerly direction until it passed directly overhead, at which point it shifted toward the northeast and then disappeared from view.

Later that month, in late July, a separate series of sightings occurred in the New England area, including near South Weymouth and Roslindale in Massachusetts. Multiple witnesses reported seeing one or two unidentified objects giving off a bluish-green light. The objects appeared to be at an altitude between 10,000 and 50,000 feet. One object moved in a complex path, turning from southwest to west to northwest, while another seemed to vanish and reappear at the same location. The Air Force received these reports through normal intelligence channels and forwarded them to the Air Technical Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

The Air Force's evaluation of these sightings is listed as unknown. The case file runs 26 pages as reproduced below and held by the National Archives.
