Project Blue Book Case File
Cyprus, May 1952May 1952
Summary
On May 10, 1952, in the city of Paphos, in southwest Cyprus, a group of people including a noted British scientist reported an unidentified object. The sighting happened about 2030 hours (8:30 p.m.).
The object appeared to rise sharply from the level of the sea and move into the sky. The observers described it as circular in shape, giving off a luminous light. It appeared to waver back and forth for a brief interval before fading from sight directly overhead.
At the time the sky was clear and there was no air traffic in the area. The information came from a semi-monthly intelligence report prepared by a liaison officer. On the Air Force record card, the case was marked Insufficient Data for Evaluation.
