Summary

On March 12, 1961, observers at Carswell Air Force Base, Texas, reported round, bright silver objects. The objects were the size of nickels and appeared side by side. They were seen directly overhead at about 40,000 feet.

On Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports, the comments said the objects were probably high-flying aircraft. Convair is located at Carswell, and B-58 aircraft were being flown there at the time. The conclusion pointed to aircraft.
