Summary

On March 13, 1950, at about 8:05 a.m., a civilian near Bradford, Illinois, reported a saucer shaped object. The sighting was made from the air and relayed through aviation authorities. The witness estimated the object's speed at about 200 miles per hour and its altitude at about 8,000 feet. The object was flying to the southeast. No other details were given.

The Air Force record (Project 10073, its official file for unidentified flying object reports) concluded the sighting was a possible aircraft. The card noted that no information showed an aircraft could not have been the cause, and that the speed and flight matched that explanation.
