Summary

On March 11, 1950, at Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, Texas, military personnel reported observing one unidentified object. The object was round, about the size of a quarter, and white in color but bright. It traveled south to west in a straight level movement. The observer used a telescope and estimated the object was half or quarter moon shaped. The estimated altitude was over 20,000 feet. Biggs Air Force Base dispatched jet fighters to 20,000 feet, and the object was reported to be above this altitude. The observation type was ground-visual. The Air Force investigation concluded the sighting was the planet Venus.
