Beulah, MichiganOctober 1956

Insufficient Data

Summary

On October 22, 1956, a civilian saw an unusual object over Beulah, Michigan. The witness was the civil defense director of Benzie County, a man with many years in law enforcement. He watched the object for two to five minutes.

The report described an oval or egg shaped object with pointed ends. It looked aluminum colored and had a row of blue lights along the bottom. The witness heard a hissing sound. He viewed it through a 30 power scope. The object then sped off to the east northeast and was gone. The sky was clear with very good visibility. Other people in the county were said to have confirmed the sightings.

The Air Force record card lists the cause as light reflections. Because a follow up report was never received, the case was carried as insufficient data. Project 10073 was the Air Force's official record system for reports of unidentified flying objects.
