Project Blue Book Case File
Bellingham, WashingtonMarch 1956
Summary
On March 8, 1956, a 72-year-old civilian at Bellingham, Washington, reported a single object. The report was made under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
The witness described one round object the size of a basketball. It was dark grey and looked like a balloon. The object flew level and then went behind a mill. The sighting lasted about two minutes. The sky had broken clouds with clear visibility.
The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably aircraft. The record said the level flight pointed to an aircraft and that nothing about the report conflicted with that finding.
