Summary
On April 14, 1957, military witnesses at Argentia Naval Station reported a single object. The case was logged under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The object was round and white, about the size of a baseball held at arm's length.
The object traveled at great speed from 180 degrees to a point directly overhead, where it dissipated in a shower of red sparks. There was no trail and no exhaust. It was watched for 15 to 20 seconds.
After study and analysis, the Air Force concluded the object was a fireball. The card carried it as a meteor.
