Insufficient Data

Summary

On January 27, 1953, at about midnight local time, an observer in Alaska reported a bright object. The source of the report was not stated in the record.

The object was described as bright, changing from red to blue to bright white. It was reported heading north and swinging in an arcing circle. The sighting lasted about 11 minutes.

The report was first sent incorrectly as a different type of message by a radar and warning squadron in Alaska. A later message advised that a proper report would follow. That follow-up message was not received.
