Summary
On March 14, 1963, a military aircraft crew over the Pacific Ocean reported a white, steady, glowing object brighter than any star. The report was made on a very clear night. The object was first seen at about 15 degrees above the horizon and was watched for about 3 seconds.
The object fell from east to west and disappeared into overcast cloud tops at about 5,000 feet. The reporting aircraft was at about 9,000 feet. The object looked about one fifth of a fingertip wide at arm's length.
The Air Force, in its Project 10073 record, concluded the sighting was a meteor.
