Summary

On November 8, 1957 (recorded at 11:20 p.m. GMT), two cigar-shaped objects were reported near Philadelphia, Mississippi. The sighting lasted about 3 minutes. The two objects were bright orange and flew wing to wing. One object then seemed to drop below the other.

The objects had pointed tails with a contrail. They traveled from north to south. One object moved up and down. They faded out in the distance.

The Air Force concluded the objects were probably aircraft. The record noted that the description suggested unidentified aircraft rather than an unknown object. This case is part of Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
