Summary

On May 26, 1957, at 10 p.m., a civilian observer in Yuma, Arizona, reported seeing one object with a long, narrow shape while looking through a telescope at stars. The object was described as unknown but four to five times longer than it was wide, with a just light color. The sighting lasted six to ten seconds. The object disappeared behind trees and buildings. No radar or electronic reports were received. The observer used 6x50 binoculars. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as probably a meteor based on duration and description.
