Summary

On May 10, 1960, observers saw a bright object in the sky west-southwest of the Hawaiian Islands. The card lists one object moving in a descending path.

The object looked like a meteor. It had a red head and a bluish-white tail. The tail was about the same width as the head. The object's brightness faded until it disappeared.

This report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force concluded the description and duration were typical of a meteor.
