Summary

On June 20, 1956, in Waterloo, Iowa, a civilian and a member of the General Operations Center (GOC) reported observing one unidentified object. The object was round and sized like a dime, white in color with a red dot in the middle. It was seen at an elevation of 30 degrees in the southeast and observed through 6X binoculars. The sighting lasted thirty minutes. The object moved erratically in the southeast direction. The Air Force concluded the sighting was possibly caused by the planet Saturn, which was located in the southeast at an approximate elevation of 30 degrees.
