Summary

On July 12, 1958, at 2:45 a.m., a control tower operator at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas observed a single white object about the size of a pinhead through binoculars. The object appeared as a bright star with no sound. It descended at a northeast course from 65 degrees elevation to 10 degrees elevation. The observation lasted 35 seconds as the object faded approaching the horizon. The tower operator was gazing at the sky when the sighting occurred. Weather conditions were clear with 15-mile visibility. The report noted that a 1958 Delta aircraft passed 200 miles south of San Antonio at 2:12 a.m. and would have been visible to the observer. No Air Force evaluation is stated on the available pages.
