Summary

On a date in 1960, a witness in Ponce, Puerto Rico, saw an object near the sun. The card lists one object that was so close to the sun it could only be seen by shielding the eyes.

The object was slightly west of the sun. The witness said it was higher than two cloud layers. The object was seen as a round shape near the bright sky around the sun.

This report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force noted that the planet Venus was about seven degrees from the sun in a westward direction at the time, pointing to Venus as the likely cause.
