Summary

On August 14, 1959, at about 0453Z, an object was reported over the North Pacific, northeast of Hawaii. The sighting was reported from the air through the Air Force's unidentified flying object record system.

The object was described as a very bright, white light moving from north to south. The light appeared larger than a planet and changed color to red as it slowly sank into the rays of the sun. The length of the sighting was unknown.

The record card noted a brief visual sighting report was received but the information was incomplete. No follow-up message was sent, and there was no basis for analysis or conclusion.
