Summary

On June 21, 1950, at 11:30 a.m. at Misawa Air Base, Japan, an AF Officer sighted a highly polished silver circular object. The object was 20 feet in diameter and 5 feet thick, flying at 50 to 75 mph at an altitude of 7,000 feet. The sighting lasted 20 seconds. The object rose almost vertically about 1,000 feet and then disappeared. No evidence of smoke or exhaust was detected, and no sound could be heard. The object appeared to shimmer. An incoming message from Tokyo describes an unidentified object sighted on June 3 at 1050 hours. It was shaped like a meatball, silver colored, with a polished surface. It traveled parallel at 1,000 feet above ground, tilted as if to vertically climb, then shimmed and disappeared. The investigation concluded the sighting was an "Other" classification.
