Summary

On April 27, 1955, a civilian woman in Manitou Springs, Colorado saw a shining object. She watched it from the back porch of her house. The object appeared to hover over nearby hills, near an old rock quarry.

The next day, an Air Force aircraft flew over the same area. The crew spotted the silver wreckage of an aircraft in the exact spot where the woman had seen the object.

The Air Force linked the sighting to a reflection from that aircraft wreckage. Because the cause was identified right away, no investigation was authorized. There was no report in the file.
