Summary

In July 1953, a witness near Key West, Florida, reported an object in the night sky. The report was made on the Air Force technical information sheet.

The object appeared low above the horizon, about 20 degrees up, and disappeared near the horizon to the southwest. The witness described it as round or circular and reddish in color, seen against a clear sky. The witness watched it from outdoors and said it was fairly certain how long the sighting lasted.

In Project 10073, the Air Force's official record system for unidentified flying object reports, the witness compared the object to a light source of unknown size. The card lists the case as astronomical.
