Summary

On June 9, 1957, at night, a civilian near Kerrville, Texas reported a sighting. The sky was clear to partly scattered with about 15 miles of visibility.

The witness saw one round object described as about 700 feet wide and 200 feet high. It had a brilliant color and made no sound. It traveled to the south. The sighting did not last very long.

The Air Force record (Project 10073, its official file for unidentified flying object reports) notes balloons were known to be in the area and considers a high altitude balloon reflecting sunlight probable. Because the data was limited, the case was listed as insufficient data.
