Summary

On February 24, 1955, near Green City, Missouri, an observer reported a hovering object. He was driving a vehicle at the time. He estimated he was about one mile from the object. The sighting lasted about 20 to 25 seconds.

The object was disc-shaped and appeared to hover at about 500 feet. The witness estimated it was about 100 feet across and about 12 feet thick, with windows.

Because the sighting was so brief, the report arrived late, and a useful investigation seemed unlikely, the Air Force did not order a follow-up. The case is recorded under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
