Summary

On February 12, 1956, a ground observer saw a strange object over Belleview, Florida. The Greenwich time was 0205Z on February 13. The observer was a civilian who supervised a ground observer post.

The object looked like a star and was white. It seemed to rotate below the field of stars. It disappeared by going over the horizon. The witness said he had reported this object before and saw it every clear night after sundown at about the same time and in the same area. He viewed it with binoculars. Local radar did not paint the object, and the Navy had no returns in the area.

The case is filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force conclusion was that the sighting was astronomical, probably a star or a reflection.
