Summary
On March 10, 1959, near Walingabad, Illinois, a witness reported seeing several fireballs that appeared every night for a week. Only one was observed at a time. The objects were first sighted as a red glow of fire at about 70 degrees above the horizon. The light did not seem to move and it was impossible to say from where it came or how it came to its position in the sky. After a short while, the fireballs emitted a bright yellow-red like hue. From ground-based observation, the fireballs appeared in the main direction of CRAN Z, 50 km north of Walingabad. The Air Force evaluation is marked as Unknown.
