Project Blue Book Case File
Bagdad, FloridaJune 1954
Summary
On June 30, 1954, civilian witnesses at a flight station near Bagdad, Florida, reported an object in the sky. It appeared shiny silver, turning to blue, and looked about three times as large as the stars. The object was seen at about 120 degrees azimuth.
The report was forwarded by the intelligence division at a nearby Air Force base. The Air Force record card concluded the case was astronomical. It noted that the object appeared to move due to atmospheric conditions, and that there was no first magnitude star or planet at that position, with the nearest object being a star at 150 degrees azimuth.
