Summary

On the night of October 9, 1959, an object was reported from the yacht Intermezzo south of Miami in Biscayne Bay, Florida. The sighting lasted about 20 to 30 seconds.

The object was believed to be at 40,000 to 50,000 feet and had a white aura. It was heading southeast, about 158 degrees, and disappeared into a cloud bank. Its speed was estimated at around 1,000 miles per hour.

The Air Force noted the report had the characteristics of a missile sighting and that the location, direction, and speed tended to support that. No data was available to confirm it. The card lists the case as a missile sighting. This was part of Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
