Summary

The OCR quality on pages 2 through 9 is too heavily garbled to reliably extract case details. However, the cover sheet (page 1) and a clearer duplicate card (page 10) indicate the following:

On an unknown date in September 1960, a greenish-white object was sighted 40 miles southeast of Misawa Air Base in Japan. The object appeared from above an overcast layer of clouds and fell straight down, then either faded out or disappeared into the overcast below. Witnesses described the object as circular with a faint trail of smoke. The Air Force records indicate the sighting was characteristic of a meteor. The file contains 18 scanned pages held by the National Archives.
