On March 21, 1956, a civilian at Sioux City, Iowa, reported one object at 2330 (about 11:30 p.m.). The report was made under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The witness, a car salesman, said the object was round and about the size of an orange. It had the appearance of a star and grew larger toward the west. It stayed at about a 45-degree angle and gained altitude. The object was in view for only a few seconds. The sky was broken.
