Summary

On July 10, 1960, a civilian couple in Marlin, Texas saw an object in the sky at dusk. The sighting lasted about one and a half minutes. The object was round and about the size of a man's head. It showed a white light that then disappeared and was followed by a red light. The white light was extremely brilliant, with small embers dropping from it. The object was first traveling east, then turned in a northerly direction before fading from view. There was no sound. A later check with flight services and a night helicopter search found no aircraft and no crash. The Air Force listed the case as insufficient data, while noting the report had some traits of an aircraft.
