Summary

On July 11, 1955, six witnesses near Big Foot, Texas saw one object in the daytime sky. It was round and silvery white. The object appeared to have streamers coming out of it. It flew a straight and level path toward the west. The witnesses watched it for about three hours. This was a civilian, ground visual sighting.

The report was filed on the Air Force record system for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably caused by a balloon. The report said the description of the object, the length of the sighting, and the winds aloft at the time all pointed to a balloon.
