Summary
On July 21, 1960, a civilian and his family on a back porch about 4.5 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Texas saw an object at night. The sighting happened at about 9:40 p.m. and lasted 10 to 12 seconds. The object was round with jagged edges and the size of a pea. It was red and flickered like a star. It wavered up and down along a straight horizontal path. It disappeared instantly into the southwest without fading in size. The weather was clear. Checks with control towers and radar found no jet or conventional aircraft in the area, and there was no physical evidence. The Air Force concluded it was possible the witness saw a meteor.
